H.323 NAT proxy solution

We are pleased to announce the launch of version 3 of DUAL Gatekeeper, our H.323 NAT proxy solution.

Operating H.323 client software and hardware devices within a LAN that uses NAT (Network Address Translation) has always posed challenges for network designers. DUAL Gatekeeper is an H.323 NAT proxy that addresses these issues, and allows H.323 devices within a LAN to reach IP addresses on the Internet and place public telephone calls using ITSP gateway or gatekeeper services.

DUAL Gatekeeper includes the following features:

• DUAL Gatekeeper can register with other gatekeepers on the Internet
• DUAL Gatekeeper can place calls through gateways on the Internet
• Fast Start and H.245 tunnelling for faster call setup
• Remote control of DUAL Gatekeeper using the DUAL Control application (included)
• Calls to IP addresses or other registered clients are supported

Internet Telephony through DUAL Gatekeeper

Being able to place calls through a gateway on the Internet and register with other gatekeepers opens up the possibility of making PC to Phone calls from clients inside your NATed LAN.

You will be able to use an ITSP through DUAL Gatekeeper if that ITSP uses a gateway or gatekeeper as their access device and allows you to either use a standard H.323 device, or allows you to configure their dialler to register with DUAL Gatekeeper at DUAL Gatekeeper’s internal IP address.
