I have heard that some call centre employees in the Phillippines have been trained with an American accent, then because of negative responses from clients, have been trained with Australian accents. THis has led to the new australian accent being too broad (vowels) to be considered natural. Any comments about what could be done about this?
I’ve been in the industry for more than 2 years, the accent training politically correct term is “accent neutralisation” This implies speaking in English with hardly any accent american or British. And no, no one has been trained Australian accent….
