to capture a log to a text file you have to check with your telnet software to see how you create a log file. If you are using Hyperterminal for telnet (which is only the 2nd worse telnet software after windows telnet), you select Transfer–>capture text.

The quintum does not keep a history of event log. In order to see this, you have to have it running in real time and have your telnet session set to capture this to a text file.
