Can anyone clarify for Codec 723 or 729, which uses less bandwidth?
For Quintum equipment.Jessica g729 should use less bandwidth than 723.
Ermm; I don’t think that’s true.
G.723 compresses to about 6kbps and G.729 compresses to 8kbps. You need to add IP/UDP/RTP header overheads to those figures, but they are also higher for G.729, because G.723 sends packets less frequently (usually every 30ms.).
