I am new to Voip. We have Cisco AS5300 running over one carrier. Since the performance and rate reason, we want to switch to a better carrier. Can anyone tell me the procedures to switch from the existing one to the new carrier? What information should I get from new carrier and make adjustment and configuration to my system to ensure the system running correctly? Many thanks.
You really do not need to switch carriers completely. You could just send some calls over a diferent carrier, to get better service or price, without dropping the former carrier.
Basically, you need the I.P. of the gateway or gatekkeper of the new carrier, the codec that will be used, and do some trial without switching.
AFter everything is working on the new route, you dedice what to do to the old one.
Thanx a lot Noname. If I want to interconnect and make new configuration or test to a new carrier, can I do it on-line without affecting my current traffic in the existing carriers?
