i’m still very new in studying software dev’t. right now, i’m having problems understanding on how to get the IP addresses in the RS232 cable connected to the VoIP equipment…i cant seem to understand the process on how to obtain the IP addresses…
RS232 isn’t an Ethernet Technology. It was developed for modem use. Same 4 wire concept, but industry standards are UTP and others related to Ethernet. Nowadays people use the RS232 Interface for a local fail safe in the event something on the network goes down. If you need further information please check out the IEEE’s website. Or read some RFC’s
