    Hi,
We have two both way PRIs (E1) connected to 2651 Multiflex trunk E1 with Alcatel Switch at PSTN end. The incoming calls are working fine, but we have problem in dialing out, we got the following cause codes for disconnection from switich:
    Cause i = 0x82BF – Service/option not available, unspecified
    Cause i = 0x8281 – Unallocated/unassigned number
Can anyone help us out urgently.

    Thanks.

    Ahsan

For reference following are the debugg q931 output for dial-in and dial-out.

What is the the Information Element of the Progress Indicator? Have you looked and the TON?

You can mess around with the TON settings, like Vurcos mentioned. Also, I have seen this problem numerous times.

Some switches do not like the bearer capability to be 3.1 Khz audio. Under your voice port, please set “bearer speech” Try the call then to see if it works. If it still does not, try adjusting your TON.

Since you are getting an error like Cause i = 0x8281 – Unallocated/unassigned number it implies that there is a problem with the syntax that you are using for outbound calls. are you using the e.164 scheme? are you placing your calls with a numbering like 00442073403621?
when you use this numbering scheme to make outbound calls to other countries i guess that should work.

Your Cisco gateway needs to be configured to recognise the country code, area code etc this way some digit stripping will occur and the call goes out as expected.
