Need to know your preference when it comes to protocols?
I have seen a lot of maturing over the last few years on SIP. Cisco’s SCCP is also doing great things and we are all aware of H.323 growing sensation. However, I was wondering if you were to invest in a technology right now, what will your preference be?What would you bet your money on?
This topic has been discussed before on this forum. Only time will tell, but there has been a huge investment in H.323, so it’s not going to die quickly, if at all.
I would buy SIP devices. The added functionality is great and Interop is easier than H.323
Plus it is easier to troubleshoot. SIP is moving toward being a standard and provides many great features that H.323 lacks.
Hope this helps.
