Hi there, this is a very general VoIP question, nothing to do with hardware etc.
if i’m using uncompressed RTP, so i have a 40 byte header (IP\UDP\RTP) and i use G.711 (64kbps) for the coding technique with payload of 20ms in duration, thats 80 kbps for the voice channel right?
Here’s my question, its easy but im stupid!
If i have a 10baseT LAN, how do i find out how many voice channels i could use?
10 Mbits\ 80 kbits ????
I know this is very inefficient! I’m just trying to get a grasp of how VoIP works.
thanks
