speech codec using for VoIP,now?

    i want to konw about the different speech codecs availabale for VOIP ,and also i want to know which is the better among them…

    most widely used are two codec :

    G.723.1 6.4kbit/s – default codec for VOIP industry

    G.729A 8kbit/s – CISCO device prefer to use this codec for a little bit better voice quality

    i want to know about the “internet low bit rate codec” (iLBC)

    i need the algorithm for the iLBC codec, where can i get that one…

    is this codec is used for VoIP applications,at present..
