Is there any way to improve the performance of a cell with high Timing Advance users. (Tilting or increasing Rx_Lev_min is not an option)
These are some actions you can carry out, if the cell is isolate:
-disable Power Control
-choose High Power TRX with good sensibility at reception
-if the traffic is not to high downgrade the capacity to improve the coverage
-deploy a repeater if necessary or just a LNA if the DL coverage is OK
If users are far enough (TA>=63) you can change the cell into an extended cell with the outer zone reserve to these usersThanx Lemaure.
Could you please tell me more about “Extended Cell”. I’m using Alcatel-Lucent soulutions. Where can I find good documents about these?
You can as well limit the coverage by modifying parameter “Hand Over on Timing Advanced” (usually called distance handover” in your BSS)
Tilting could be a good choice if you dont need the cell to cover a large area as the cell can create as well interferences.
