We are using ZTE’s equipment in PS Core side. Previously, the UMTS paging ratio was very low . So, we increase the paging holding time ad the outcome was increase in Paging ratio.Now i am looking forward to determine paging congestion from PS core side.So looking forward for the feedback,suggestion..
Please can someone explain to me the fonctionalities IR_UL, NACC and PSI on Alcatel system? What are the advantages using them?
avishek > paging congestion will come mostly from the BSS part, so I guess you have to check qos stats from the BSS (= PCH Congestion).
But usually there is not only a PS Paging congestion, but rather a congestion of the PCH that equally affects PS Paging and CS Paging.
However the amount of PS Paging is usually very small, because there is only very little usage for it. In 99.9% of cases, it is the MS that initiates the data transfer, not the network !
