Huawei BTS3012 configuration

    Hello everyone,

    I just have a quick question.

    Is it possible to upgrade a BTS3012 from S2/2/2 (no power boosting) to 3/3/3 ? And if so, what hardware is required.

    I initially thought it would be about TRXs, so the 3/3/3 would require 1 more TRX/cell, but then I found configurations that are not directly related to nr. of TRXs, so I’m confused.

    Dear Cristian

    your BTS has old configuration S2/2/2 this mean that you have 3 DTRU connected to 3 DDPU and the connection is TX1, TX2 from DTRU connected to DDPU
    now you need to upgrade up to one TRX per sector, so the additional HW will be 2 more DTRU and change connection of original 3 DTRU to be the output from TCom which combine 2 TRXs and use TX1 from additional DTRU you have

    Note:
    TCom output add 2dB loss so you need to step down power for the extra TRX
