    How is UMTS900 compared to UMTS 2100?
    Will it affect the existing GSM 900?

    UMTS900 will have a better coverage. Due to lower frequency, MAPL is lower for UMTS900.

    Yes, because it will use a 5MHz band located within the current GSM band. Therefore a GSM operator can deploy UMTS within its own GSM band. Ex. an operator has a 20MHz GSM band. It can decide to deploy UMTS900 in 5MHz, and reduce the GSM band to only 15MHz.
