When we are on a communication, and when we have the “Bip Bip” telling us that there is an other call.
I presume the “”Bip Bip is a signal sent from the MSC
and we heard it through the TCH True or False?
Or it is sent through SACCH to our MS, and then the MS elaborate and send the “Bip Bip”?
Or sent through FACCH and then the MS elaborate and send “the Bip Bip”?
2nd step
Now I want to answer the second call, and put the first one on call waiting.
So I push the button accept 2nd call:
but which logical channel is used to carry the signal “I want to answer the second call”
SACCH or FACCH?
Thank you
thank you Pix
I was thinking about that but I was not sure
An other question:
Perhaps you know what is the etsi document number that talk about that
(info carried by Sacch and Facch, broadly speaking: all logical channels)
And about the management of call waiting, I presume that the conferences Devices manage it in the MSC (in fact it should be something in the MSC, because when we change MSC service AREA without updating because we are on the call, the initial MSC (Anchor) should be able to route the call to the second MSC )
regards
the logical channels are described in the series 44
(001, 003, etc)
but the description of the 2nd call and so on… it is going to be difficult.
The process is probably described in a core network document, and the radio implementation is indirectly described somewhere else.
Start reading 🙂
