This parameter actually defines the maximum no. of PDCH’s in a cell(dynamic+static).
Consider an Example.
Say you set “Maximum Ratio Threshold of PDCHs in a Cell” to 30%
No. of Static PDCH=3
No.of TCH =28
Then Max available PDCH=(28+3)*30/100 =9.3
So,the maximum no. of Dynamic PDCH will be (9-3)=6.
Hi Prabeen
TS increment for EGPRS/GPRS should be done as per soft n hard blocking. For soft blocking increase Dynamic TS & for Hard increase the fixed ones.
Criteria
Soft Blocking > 5%
Hard Blocking > 2%
You can try flexi abis also to obtain good data KPI’s
Guru/Prabeen
Hard Blocking means user is totally deprived to get any channel for data,i’e PDCH.
Soft Blocking means user is not totally deprived of data channel, but it is not up to the mark of the user capability, say the MS is capable of 4 TSL’s in DL & 2 in UL,but it is assigned 2 in DL & 1 in UL.

If you make that 100%,it will mean all your TCH’s can be used as dynamic PDCH.In that case, the parameter “Maximum PDCH numbers of carrier” should be set as “8”.
But never set it as 100%,it will affect the CS services
That was a beautiful explanation. Also, Could u tel me the process or command to retreive the data from server in Ericsson system.
And, I have got most of my Cells with High Packet Channel Allocation Failure. Could you tell me thereason for this? The CS traffic is considerably low for all these cells. N i dont have any RPP constraint. Wher else should i invent?
