Hi,
The DL Quality HO % has suddenly increased for one of our BSCs. No parameter changes were made as such, and cell level analysis showed DL Quality Handovers increased on ALL of the approx 250 cells of the BSC. ANy recommendations as to how this can be troubleshooted?
Vendor is Nokia 2G.
Thanks/
15th January 2010 at 05:00 #60678BijoyGuestAny S/W upgradation??
15th January 2010 at 22:50 #60679TheDarkKnightGuestThanks for your reply, Bijoy.
No, actually, there was no SW Upgrade at all. The %HO due to DL Quality for the rest of the BSCs has remained stable. What’s more is that the %HO due to UL Qual for this BSC has also remained consistent.
Any ideas?
Thanks/16th January 2010 at 07:22 #60680BijoyGuestIs there is a dip in DL RX qual values too.if yes please re-check your freq plan or transmission media. If no,please re-check your DL qual HO triggering parameters.Maybe u can compare with a normal BSC.

Bijoy22nd January 2010 at 08:02 #60681TheDarkKnightGuestYes, there has also been a dip in the RxQual values for 90% of the cells. The BSC covers sites located in different cities, so we can rule out external interference issues. Please do provide some details as to what exactly we should check, such as on the transmission media?
Many thanks for your help!22nd January 2010 at 08:41 #60682BijoyGuestPlease check the Slips on ET’s by “ZYMO”.
Also check if there is any 7601 alarm–“Difference between PCM and base station frequency reference.”Check if your BSC Clock is OK.
22nd January 2010 at 15:07 #60683TheDarkKnightGuestYes, in fact, the alarm 7601 is appearing on around 10 sites (BCFs) of this BSC. I am also going to have the ZYMO for these sites run. Do you have any idea what exactly could be causing the problem?
Again, REALLY appreciate your help..22nd January 2010 at 15:37 #60684TheDarkKnightGuestAnd the ZYMO command for one of the ETs shows slips:
SLIPS:
POSITIVE NEGATIVE
43 15Please do advise on how to proceed! Do we need any hardware replacement?
23rd January 2010 at 07:06 #60685BijoyGuestWhat about the BSC clock? What is its Word value? Also how the BSC clock is extracted?
As per your data,it seems a media issue, please seek help of some Tx guy to have the media diagnostic report.Br\\
Bijoy24th January 2010 at 23:12 #60686TheDarkKnightGuestYes, I have been discussing the case with Tx and Ops guys as well. The first step will be the removal of the 7601 alarm. I am also trying to get data and stats related to the BSC Clock of this BSC.
Thanks again/
27th January 2010 at 19:47 #60687TheDarkKnightGuestOps have confirmed that the alarm 7601 is occurring only because some sites are on VSAT.
But still, could this be the reason for the DL Quality degradation?Thanks/
