We are thinking of activating AMR on our network,but need to know the penetration rate.
Cansmeone give me the counters to detcet AMR capable mobiles and their penetrtion rate in the network? We are using Alcatel B10.
Hi, Optimiser! I think that the number of mobiles supporting AMR is 60-90% dependendently of particular network. In our network it equals about 80%. Furthermore you may check out statistics (Bearer Capability in Setup or CALL CONFIRMED messages) by means of any tracer tools/

You can find the ratio of AMR-capable mobiles in RNO/NPO. It is located in a family which has a name that contains “speech”.
Just search for “AMR” in the list of indicators, you can’t miss it…

The indicator is GTCNA3RQTN (RTCH_assign_AMR_request)Receipt of 48.008 ASSIGNMENT REQUEST from the MSC for speech call with GSM speech coding algorithm version 3 full rate or half rate allowed.
Counts the number of TCH requests coming from MS that could support AMR.
