Hi Pix,
Power values are in dB
19th June 2011 at 19:46 #59919pixGuesthi,
so… when i read “MAX power level of MS=5”
it means
MAX power level of MS=5dBm ???23rd June 2011 at 15:08 #59920SuzaneGuestSorry pix in replying late & confusing you, I went sick…Back now
When we say
MAX power level of MS=5 it means 33dbm & MIN power level of MS=16 it means 11dbm23rd June 2011 at 17:54 #59921pixGuestsuzanne,
i’m glad you’re fine now ๐
well, my only concern is that i can’t read the numerical values you’ve written. You must translate them in dB or dBm, please ๐I understand the translation is not complicated, but i just can’t do it…
thanks ๐

25th June 2011 at 18:19 #59922SuzaneGuestHey Pix !! Hope you are doing fine..
Well, Let me describe it properly:
Power ref table is as under:
value(0-2)=39dbm
value 3 = 37dbm
value 4 = 35dbm
value 5 = 33dbm
………….
value 16 = 11dbm
value 17 = 9dbm
value 18= 7dbm
value(19-31) = 5dbm.26th June 2011 at 13:11 #59923pixGuesthi,
and what about Increase uplink level=25 ?
I begin to think that you just don’t want to convert your previous post, where you list all your parameters, into understandable units.
Please convert each parameter…
Help me help you… :))
27th June 2011 at 16:01 #59924SuzaneGuestDear Pix, Really very sorry to create such trouble to you…
Here i go with complete description :
1)MAX power level of MS=5
2)MIN power level of MS=16
Parameter 1 & 2 are mapped as Power ref table as under:
value(0-2)=39dbm
value 3 = 37dbm
value 4 = 35dbm
value 5 = 33dbm
………….
value 16 = 11dbm
value 17 = 9dbm
value 18= 7dbm
value(19-31) = 5dbm.3) MIN power level of BS=10–>(where 0:Pn,1: Pn-2 dB;15:Pn-30 dB & Pn=The maximum power level of BTS is Pn)
4)Increase uplink level=25–> (Ths 0-63 mapped with -110 to-47)dBm i.e 0=-110 & 63= -47dbm.
here 25 = -85dBm.5)Decrease uplink level=35–>
(Ths 0-63 mapped with -110 to-47)dBm i.e 0=-110 & 63= -47dbm.
here 35 = -75dBm.6)Increase uplink quality=4
7)Decrease uplink quality=1Parameter 6&7 are based on band (0to7)
8)Increase downlink level=20–>
(Ths 0-63 mapped with -110 to-47)dBm i.e 0=-110 & 63= -47dbm.
here 20 = -90dBm.9)Decrease downlink level=35
(Ths 0-63 mapped with -110 to-47)dBm i.e 0=-110 & 63= -47dbm.
here 35 = -75dBm.10)Increase downlink quality=4
11)Decrease downlink quality=1
Parameter 10&11 are based on band (0to7)
where P/N for all UL/DL is 2/3Also,Handover MarginRxQual is =6dB
27th June 2011 at 18:03 #59925pixGuestHi Suzie,
Ok, so you can try the following values (keep everything else like it is)
Min power level of MS=19
Increase uplink level=15
Decrease uplink level=25that should help reducing the UL Interference. Regarding the DL, your settings are already quite good. You could try this :
Decrease downlink level=30
But I can’t be sure that it will enhance your network.

Pix4th July 2011 at 15:40 #59926suzaneGuestHey Pix…. I am back, How r u doing dear
Min power level of MS=19 i.e 5dBm–> Will it not increase Call drop or degrade voice quality,
Increase uplink level=15
Decrease uplink level=25Increase & decrease uplink level to 15 & 25, will it not delay the Power control ??
4th July 2011 at 19:57 #59927pixGuestsuzane,
I’m kind of useless if i’m starting to give advices on HOW TO increase the call drap rate, and HOW TO degrade voice quality :))
The settings I’m giving you are very standard. They are more aggressive than yours, but it’s only because yours were very conservative.
What are your increase step sizes, and increase factors ?
Regards
pix5th July 2011 at 14:47 #59928SuzaneGuestDear Pix,
Please don’t take it on other way… Let me Implement these & will share the Pre-Post
5th July 2011 at 16:27 #59929pixGuestok, no problem ! fingers crossed ๐
15th November 2011 at 21:50 #59930DannyGuestI have activated DTX+AMR on FR and just AMR on HR, and the voice quality is good enough, and statistics so far so good.
If u have a very high problem with Dropped calls Statistics but the voice quality is good, just increase “Radio Link Time Out” to 64.
16th November 2011 at 18:53 #59931IanGuestDanny,
DTX UL or DL ?
Which version of ALU are you using ? B10 Mr7 or B11 ?
Regards
Yann18th November 2011 at 02:36 #59932DannyGuestUL and DL (HR)
I work with Huawei, but Its the same, in the past I work with Siemens, and the differences are minimum.
Try to deactivate DTX on HR, In my experience DTX affect HR Voice Quality, and we don’t care to save battery on phones, I rather keep voice quality.
And remember wen u use AMR, its recommending increase Radio Link Time Out to 64, we can save voice quality but the carrier quality its the same.
