MAX PDCH and Thr Decrease!!

    Hi all, we performed MAX PDCH parameter Change on 3 cells and we observed thr decrease(out BH CS), is this normal behavior?? (ALcatel BSS)

    what is thr decrease ? (the meaning ?)

    I work on ALU too, I never heard this before…

    we performed two Drive test measurements under the same BTS (3 cells) the first one on BH GPRS and the second one outside (away from BH CS) and the results are the following:

    – BH GPRS: FTP Thr Decrease by 50kbits/s!!! + increase of 1 TS usage!

    -BH CS: MCS9 usage decrease and HTTP Browsing Transfer Th decrease

    is this normal?

    Yes, at the busy hour, the distribution of TCH, PDCH and GCH (on Abis) is very dynamic. The situations you are experiencing are normal, I think. Reducing the thr is a way to better share the resources with other users.

    otherwise i think in normal situation with 1 user in the cell higher thr should be observed?

    Yes.
    At BH, you will experience the worst thr possible (all resources are busy : radio timeslots, Abis, Ater, Gb, etc…)
