EDGE latency check

    Hi
    Can any one help me how to check the latency for the whole network EDGE service latency vendor are Alcatel and huawei .

    Ping your GGSN, several times, each ping separated by few seconds / or immediately after the previous one.

    1/ Connect your phone to your Computer, so that it acts as a Modem
    2/ Attach your computer to your network using the Phone connection
    3/ open Windows Command Prompt
    4/ type “ping ip_address_of_ggsn”
    check the delay of the first ping (estabilishment of TBF)
    check the delay of next pings (tbf already established)

    Thanks for your response so there is no Statistic in GGSN or SGSN to show the latency

    Aso,

    I don’t think so. From GGSN, you can try to ping the MS, so that will tell you the DL latency…
    But there are no statistics about this, as far as I know. I’m not a core network expert though…
