paging in CS dedicated mode

    Hi,

    When an MS is allocated a TCH and it enters the dedicated mode, it should stop listening to CCCH, Then how can it get other paging message during a call (we get call waiting/alerting) during a existing call.

    Assuming MS is not multislot capable.

    Over SDCCH, I suppose.
    For what other paging during a call? VLR already knows where subscriber is.

    Ok. Will it be SACCH or SDCCH ? Also If an existing call is put on hold and a new call is received, will the resource assignment (read channel assignment) happen again for this or existing resource (radio TS)can be used for new call ?

    The second paging is sent over FACCH, isn’t it ?
    Anyway, it’s either the fACCH or the SACCH, and I’m leaning to the FACCH.
    It cannot be SDCCH or PCH.

    The second call is handled on the existing TCH.

    Agreed Pix, It may not wait for SACCH frame to arrive, rather send it on facch.
