hi Nios
To reduce or increase the coverage of a cell, you may (primarily) tune the CPICH power :
primaryCpichPower
Amos: get utranCell primaryCpichPower
By default, use 330 (ie. 33dBm)
Dependencies: primaryCpichPower less than maximumTransmissionPowerDecreasing the cpich will reduce the cell coverage, but also decrease the Ec/No of the users inside the cell. They will “hear” more interferences.
A good way to check the coverage distance of a cell is to extract the counter “pmPropagationDelay”, at RBS level (class prach)
Amos : pmx prach pmPropagationDelay -m 3 -a
Within one sector, only analyse cells with highest amount of samples (ie. where the UE are camping).Regards,
pix14th June 2017 at 04:22 #57267Parsa48GuestI have a lot of cs drop calls in Ericsson baseband 5216 for u900 technology please help me
17th June 2017 at 20:18 #57268pixGuesthi,
Many call drops in U900 is usually caused by users getting too low coverage of u900, without possibility of handover to another cell.
check the neighbour relation with GSM cells, check the event 2d thresholds, the 3a threshold.
Also check 3G neighbours…
but really, the first step would be to investigate the kpis and the topology, and understand what is causing the drops.
Cheers

There’s a problem in 3G network(u900 with baseband 5216) .the uplink quality is very bad and in road area the subscribe could not use 3g data and in most times they have edge. Please guide me to know the reason and how to solve the problem
5th August 2017 at 13:08 #57271LEMAUREGuestDear PARSA
make sure the neighboring GSM cells are well refarmed. Did you perform SSV on those sites?9th August 2017 at 11:20 #57272hungryforknowledge247GuestHi Parsa48,
Poor uplink quality on U900 could be due to many reasons.
Have you checked dominance in the area.
Is it just one site or cluster of sites.
Check for Scrambling code clashes.
Get it drive tested and analyse log files.
Check if there is external interference.
What is the value of Prx Noise you are getting.
Check 3G-2G and 3G-3G neighbours.13th August 2017 at 02:08 #57273Parsa48GuestHi to all dear
What is the fast dormancy feature?
How can iI check and adjust in Ericsson ran?13th August 2017 at 02:21 #57274Parsa48GuestKindly anyone help me for increasing wcdma voice traffic than gsm voice traffic in Ericsson network

Fast dormany is something which try and save mobiles battery consumption when link between mobile and network is idle15th August 2017 at 15:19 #57276hungryforknowledge247GuestHi Parsa48,
To increase traffic on 3G you can make reselection from 2G to 3G easier by changing reselection criteria. Make it reselect to 3G quicker and on lower thresholds.
And once this is done you can make calls to be more stickier to 3G. This can be done by chaning 3G to 2G handover criteria. Hope this helps.5th September 2017 at 12:17 #57277hicham27Guestcould you please help me to kown the reasons of drop (speach , HS,R99 …..)
