There is no mandatory protocol stack between BSC and CBC in GSM. It is vendor dependent. In 03.49 you may find out example protocol stacks. See also 03.41 for CBS.14th February 2009 at 06:41 #55800DariushGuestDear, Pan
Thanks for your reply actually i read these standards but our application did’t work with such protocol stack which came inside Recommendation so that we need exact Protocol used by Simens So Any help or advice regarding Internal protocol used by siemens will be helpful.
20th February 2009 at 14:14 #55801DarwinGuestHi to all,
Can I ask your help? We have a project for CBC on two different vendor Ericsson and Alcatel.
What program to interface the BSC and I can send CBC on to it?
20th February 2009 at 15:02 #55802PixGuestThe protocol stacks are (good luck in redrawing them “horizontally” ):
– BSC
SMS−CB
X.25
XOT
TCP/UDP
IP
Link(802.3)– IP/X25 Router
X.25 —————— X.25
XOT —————— LAPB
TCP/UDP ————— SERIAL LINK
IP
Link(802.3)– CBC
SMS−CB
X.25
LAPB20th February 2009 at 15:02 #55803pixGuestThe EIM-R is the application process which manages 9130 BSC Evolution external communication with the CBC and the OMCR.

Mehran24th February 2009 at 06:31 #55805PanGuestHello, Mehran!
Siemens BSC supports two options for interconnect with CBC:
– X.25 protocol stack
– IP protocol stack.
They are not proprietary protocols.

Thanks for your reply but inside the bsc TED they mentioned they have used proprietary Protocol.that why we need it to implement our application.

There is quot from Siemens BR9 description (OMN:BSC):
The BSC is interfaced with the following Network Management systems:
…….
b) the Cell Broadcast Centre to support all GSM specified cell broadcast service primitives.
…..
In order to manage the interfaces toward these network elements, two different level 3
protocols are supported by the eBSC:
– The X.25 protocol;
– The IP protocol

13th April 2012 at 11:25 #55809SonitGuestDear All,
I am trying to broadcast a message form CBC application to ALU BSC.
The problem is that i am able to broadcast only on channel 50, but if i try and broadcast on any other channel i am getting an error “bss capacity exceeded”.
Is there any configuration required to be done in ALU BSC to enable the broadcast for different channel.Kindly help
18th April 2012 at 12:07 #55810TanujGuestHi Sonit
Plz check if the Channel 51 is created or not in the respective BSC.
