In a co-BCCH multiband cell – Is it possible to enable Half Rate only in 1800 band TRX if no HR is activated in 900 band TRX ? If the answer is no then could u plz explain the technical reason ?
those are 2 different cells, so of course, you can activate HR in one 1800 cell and not in other cells.

Two are actually same cells as BCCH is only in 900 Band.
If still the answer is yes – then could u plz explain why ? Moreover just for ur info- I could not activate so in Alcatel.

yes, that’s possible to configure only inner zone TRX as DR.Edit your BTS (in the Abis view), you can see your sectors (one sector = outer zone, another sector = inner zone) and you can decide which TRX will be DR or FR.

Actually I tried enabling AMR (Alcatel G2 BSC) ONLY in 1800 Band (i.e. NO HR in 900 BTS cell) – but i got failure message from the OMC-R !
But when I again tried after enabling HR in 900 cell – then it worked !!!
I am confused !!
hmmm… then it’s not related to HR, but probably more to the AMR feature. Why didn’t you explain your problem fully in your first post ? I could have tried it right away. Now, I can’t try it anymore. Maybe tomorrow…
