High rate of Ping Pong during Handover

    Hi all,

    Could you explain me raison of ping pong during handover (case of cell belonging to the same site, case of site belonging to different sites) and what are the solution to reduce that. I work on Ericsson equipment.

    Hi,
    Ping pong can happen due to no dominant …mainly due to poor Downtilting.In that case you will find lots of neighbors which have strong level.
    So,Downtilting should be done more carefully.
    U can increase the ho_margin in case where the ping pong HO happens (to prevent it.)

    You could also do parameter tuning to avoid period: increase the handicap and the the period during which this handicap is applied to prevent the MS from going back to the old cell, at least that works for ALcatel systems.
