Thanks sunita,
For the reply. Will there be any analysis in SCCP level also or it will be restricted to MTP level. How it differs from normal exchange. Why not we can increase the capacity of the exchange instead of having a tandem exchange.
WE CAN NOT INCREASE THE CAPACITY
BEYOND CERTAIN LIMIT. FOR EX OCB283 R25 IS HAVING LIMIT OF 8 LAC BHCA. IN A BIG CITY IF WE INSTALL ONE TANDEM EXCH EVEN IF THERE ARE 50 LOCAL EXCHANGES CONNECTED TO IT, IT WILL HANDLE OVFL TRAFFIC PLUS IT WILL BE THE ALTERNATE PATH FOR DIRECT CONNECTIVITY BETWEEN TWO LOCAL EXCHANGES. SO IT IS VERY USEFUL. HERE SUB ARE NOT DIRECTLY CONNECTED.
Tandem Telephone Exchanges helps to route traffic to other Network destinations.
Local Exchanges are connected using a defined hierarchy. A Tandem or a Transit Exchange is basically a
scaled Exchange that does not have any customer Terminations, i.e. it does not have a Main Distribution
Frame (MDF). Tandem (transit) Exchanges helps with Network redundancy / resilience. Different routes can be used based on the Network conditions.
The Signalling (e.g. SS7) is an overlay Network that operates out of band. This allows the Network to
be flexible and promotes fast Network planning. STP – Signalling Transfer Points – are used to handle signalling requests from Intelligent Network (IN) applications.
