Thanks for the question. ICA is used to setup a call leg. Good example is call out of the blue services. For availability you will need to use the requestReportingBCSM method with ICA. In the past I have used this with a vendor specific version of INAP. It was not a CAMEL based solution.

What is the ballpark cost to upgrade a network from CAMEL Phase2 /3 to CAMEL Phase4? My service requires the O_Term_Seized (O_Aleeting) Trigger and that that seems is only supported in C4.

Also is it a simple upgrade procedure on a production network?

    Any info appreciated. Thanks!

Follow on Q: is the O_Alerting TDP as EDP-R typically supported by IN networks?

For the cost of the upgrade to CAMEL Phase 4 (from CAMEL Phase 2/3) you will need to get a quote from your respective Core Network vendors. As an input for the quote they will ask for the number of customers that will be serviced marked with CAMEL, expected TCAP transactions, number of services that will use CAMEL Phase 4, etc.. This will help to determine the cost of the Software Licenses for the UDC/HSS, gsmSSF, gsmSCF, IP, etc.. Depending on the existing hardware , an upgrade may be required and this will be factored into the cost. SI migration costs is also an item that has to be considered. Migration and upgrade MOPs will need to be developed with the respective vendors. One area that can be a challenge is the interoperability tests with CAP V4. Some vendors may have to update parts of their CAP V4 stack.

Thanks for that. Can you give a sense of the cost? Say a 40m user network that would be utilising the Phase 4 functionality. Is it like $1m? $10m? …

Sense of cost for the upgrade to CAMEL Phase 4 (CAP V4 / MAP V4).

Each vendor will have their own pricing/discount model, assumptions used with the Network dimensioning (sizing), Professional SI services(upgrade and migration), software and hardware requirements, links to other opportunities (e.g. upgrade to 5G, vendor swaps, etc..), CAMEL basic / optional features, etc..

For an estimate you will need to go back to your respective vendor or vendors. Feel free to issue a RFP – Request for Proposal.

    Hey Guys.
Do you know if Camel 4 is supporting B-Subscriber location information for MO call? Do you know how it works?
    Thanks,

    Sorry for the late response.

In the past I have used ICA for call out of the blue applications.

For your case ICA cannot be used. Another CAP operation (method() ) must be used.
