paging per second

    Hi, in our network, ther was sudden increase in paging per second and decrease in paging success rate for 3 LACs. we are using alcatel systems….could anyone help me about the location of problem.

    If it has occured after a LAC change activity, one of the reasons could be existence (duplication) of extra CI with old LAC on NSS side.

    Dear AD,
    Firts you have to check the paging capacity per BSC vs. the number of subscribers per each LAC. In case number of subscribers is greater than the paging capacity ( depending also on the paging mechanism, IMSI-IMSI, TMSI-IMSI, repeated pagings …etc) then you have to split the LACs.
