FACCH Call Setup Parameter

    Hi All RF Experts,

    I am working on Nokia Equipments and wanna know about Facch Call Setup..?

    If we enable it then what will be the Pros and cons of this feature..

    Requesting all of you guys to help me out..

    Sumit,
    I am not fully aware of all the pros & cons of enabling this parameter but i can provide u with a little informaion.
    1) FACCH Calls are not supported by all mobiles.eg Sony T100
    2)FACCH steals 2 bits from traffic channels,so it may degrade the quality of ur connection.

    By FACCH call setup do you mean the immediate assignment on TCH? i.e. using TCH for call setup instead of SDCCH?

    Hi,

    The FACCH call setup occurs…

    WHEN

    there is SDCCH congestion.

    Question arises…

    Why they felt the need for this feature ie CALL SETUP ON FACCH …

    But included this in set of OPTIONAL.
