UL quality

    Hi,

    Am working in a RF company in asia,encounter some optimization problems…

    Pls advice

    One of my sector in a site is havin high drop call,have change the freq and my ops team have when down to check the equipt,no fault was found,

    After drive test no clear indications.

    From my report,my uplink quality are very weak.

    Syetem am using now is GSM network.
    GSM900
    With Nokia BTS.

    Any report i can run to show me more info?

    Pls advice.

    Very simple and straight forward! If you have Network Doctor u can run Cell Doc report and u should able to spot the problem easily.

    Hi Tag, if the sector in question is on hopping, you may need to disable it. Try cell doctor and see any particular TRX have sign of bad quality. Lock suspected bad TRX to see if drop call rate improve. Please Use MML command to see if any alarms on this sector. It may be external interference that result high drop call rate. All the best!

    Hi Zar,

    Thanks for the information,

    We have use a spectrum and there are no externl interfence,
    We have also disable hopping,

    However all the 3 TRXs is having UL quality problems.

    What i suspect is equipment is fault so any means to justified?

    i believe this is what u mean by the link balance.

    ** Rx Level Dl – Rx Level UL – Correction

    However in my report it is not stated.

    For power control command,what to u mean by that..i mean which one u refering to?

    Hi guys:
    Kindly i wonder about TRX hw problem, Cuz we encouter this in our network (alcatel) whereby we get LOW EFFICIENCY for TRXs daily, & just we replace it by other, so please what is the sensible reason beyond this problem, to avert this huge number of replacement which are (more than 4 low efficient TRXs per day)
    any Ad is highly appriciated.

    This could be due to a Path problem. Check your antenna connecttion/couplers etc and link balance.

    use cell doc distance range distribution reports to check how far your cell is propogating beyond its planned coverage objective.

    Just check out CDMA site collocation ….as the CDMA downlink is interferes with GSM uplink..which actually degrades the uplink quality..so I would suggest use of notch filters….To avoid the CDMS overlay problem

    Nitin Khurana is right, also there can be overlay with DAMPS. We had this problem with EGSM TRXes,filters is the only way

    you should check antenna input, UL path from SWR point of view…
    is it SBCCH cell ? if yes, is DCS layer impacted too ?

    to mandy : link budget is teoretical difference between DL & UL, link balance is based on measurement done by BTS…
