GSW capacity in dx200

    hi all

    1) Can any one tell me the basic gsw (dx200 nokia) switching capacity? I mean how many TS or 64 Kbps line it can switch at a time with basic configuration?

    2) lets take one scenario: total subs = 400K
    Traffic / sub = 25 mErl

    So total traffic = 400K*25mErl = 10K Erlang

    Now how one should estimate the GSW switching capacity for these 400K subs for this Network?

    Please try to explain with the calculation.

    Which dx200 equipment you mean? GSW is present in every dx200 equipment. So you interested in MSC or BSC?

    See this is what you are asking. Please correct me if I am wrong.  

    Erlang = Hour of traffic in the hour

    Let say 25mErl

    So it means it is 0.025 hours of traffic in hour
    = 1.5 (that is 0.025 * 60) minutes of traffic in hour

    What abt Erlang Calculation for interexchanges ?

    If I see 22 ERLANGS for one route for 24 HR Traafic Observation then how much traffic it carried and can carry MAX ?

    Hi KAT,

    Sorry for less explaination.

    I am asking abt Inter exchange Trunk Link between 2 cities.

    The trunk route has 90 Circuits.

    For 24 Hrs as per observation it shows it carried 30.4 ERLANGS.

    I want to know the calculation for this observation and as well as how much max can be carried out by this Trunk Link.

    there are total 90 ckts. from 24 hr observation it is showig 30.4 Erl.

    if i am not wrong, it simply means that out of this 90 ckts, 30.4 ckts are busy for that perticular hr.

    but the real thing may be different. how it can be different that i am trying to explain below.

    suppose you are talking about 2 ckts. if for 1 hr, you get traffic of 1 Erl, it mean that 1 ckt was busy for that perticular 1 hr. but this also can happen that 2 ckts were busy for half an hr. when 2 ckts busy for 0.5 hr, they also generate 1 Erl traffic.

    i hope it will ans your Q. if you have any other Q, kindaly let me konw..

    please can any one give ans of my basic Q about the capacity of GSW in nokia MSC dx-200??
