here i found all r fighting about that 1 ater= ? E1 , actually 1 ater = one e1 physically, if take logically 1ater=4 E1 .i.e ater is used for multiplexing.. i.e resource saing so if we use direct A interface as the link between bsc and msc then we need one E1 for one A link , ater provides 4:1 multiplexing that physically one E1= one ater = one A interface…

earlang is traffic handling capacity or say its unit of traffic . and i earlang is no of calls *no of minutes.

Erlang is not *only* capacit. It is also used to represent the quantity of traffic actually carried by the system.
It is = nb of calls * minutes… why wouldn’t it be ? 🙂
