how system measures idle mode interference in GSM?
b’cause, if it continues measures in idle TSL than it should be there in night also, but i m not finding interference in night.
It is very useful measurement report to find out unwanted signals in GSM uplink spectrum. Command RLCRP:cell=….., and printout ICMB column indicate presence of unwanted signals if the ICMB>1. Source of measured radio power, at the time period when only noise should be presence, might be from bad GSM frequency planning or from interfering signal source, like TV high power broadcast or forbidden GSM jammer!
If you need some more details do not hesitate to contact me by mail!
becoming a very specific, i would like to find idle mode inteference in NOKIA system. i m working on DCS 1800 system. so can u help me littlebit more???
I am Ericsson specialist and do not know NOKIA GSM BSC features, but it must be some prompt command response if there is a interference at the moment when command is issued. Even more, there are statistical features that presents in details what the influence to the system is caused by the interference. For DCS the most probably source of interference is caused by bad cell planning, frequency reuse, height of antenna, bad downlink power control, disabled frequency hopping etc. In DCS, I have no experience about unwanted source of interference, TV UHF-VHF broadcast, jammers etc.
There is problem with the uplink interference specially indoors(indoor cells)in some of our Sites ,it is also showing UL interefernce in Hopping channels. We are having DCS 1800 band?We know there is UL int. but how to measure it?
Try to eliminate your intefering frequencies if possible or change the frequency and monitor your change in measurement stats.
There seem to be a lot of this inteference in idle mode in the DCS1800 systems.I am experiencing the problem in the Siemens equipment.
