Hello All
this is to start the discussion over the performance issues in GPRS/GSM network.
can anyone suggest what issues are created when a GPRS is newly integrated in the GSM network, specially in Air interface.
Hi
I read your probelm ,in a newly
integrated gsm network the first which we face is there how much timeslot is given for the GPRS,and how much you given following specify
1-CDEF
2-CDED
3-TRP
4-BFG
5-NSEI
is that correct format or not
and the timeslot or dedicated or dynamic

CDED is % of total tsl always used for data and CDEF is % of total tsl that can be dynamically allocated for data but will revert to vioce if needed. A simple example :
Total tsl avail – 10
CDED 20% = 2 tsl dedicated to data.
CDEF 40% = 4 tsl that can be used for data unless need for voice.
CMAX 100% – I think this is combo of CDED and CDEF = 60% = 6 tsl in this example.
So CDED cannot be greater then CDEF since you would not be using any tsl dynamically then and have no need for it.
This is my best understanding of these parameters. If it is wrong in any way please post a detailed explaination.
can anyone please tell how can i change cded cdef if my cell has high blocking what values will be appropriate for GSM and DCS. And what impact it will show . Kindly reply
