How does MSC works? Based on Circuit switching or Packet switching? Please guys explain
MSC-Has Both
But Majority Circuit Switching.

In 2G – GSM Only CircuitSwitching.
Done by Switching System.In 2.5 – GSM+GPRS MSC-Circuit Switching.GPRS Nodes Handles Packet Switching.
In UMTS- Plan to make evrything as PACKETS.

is it in MSC it fully uses trunks(circuits)
In CDMA – 2G uses Ckt Switching.
In 3G/2.5, it’s packet switched at the air interface for Supplemental channels.Hi George:
in the cdma msc solution,most of the part are ATM based,like handover and mobile to mobile call, so it is a combiner of TDM and ATM system!
