1)Various components of a BTS, Central processor, Transceiver (transmitter and receiver Unit), Combiner and distribution Unit( to combine and distribute signals to/from various TRX), and antenna system.
2) how to diffeentiate a 2/2/2 from a 4/4/4 bts
2/2/2 means a BTS with three sectors alfa/beta/gama, with 2-2-2 TRE in each sector. whereas 4/4/4 means 4 TRE in each sector. 4/4/4 can cater more number of subscribers compared to 2-2-2.

RBS 2206 is the latest with 12 TRU (Transceiver Unit- basically the function is transmitter and receiver)with CDU (combiner and distribution unit to enable various TRU to share the same antenna and vice versa), then u have DXU (Distribution and switching Unit, acts as a central processor and handles all teh control function life communication with BSC and providing resources to individual TRU), then u have 4 Rectifire module to convert AC power to DC power.
11th December 2005 at 06:23 #39317TovicskterGuestDear all,
I would like to know about the Air Interface and what is the function about it. How to connect direct BTS or RBS to BSC without any transmission?
