    HI,

    I am working in a Dual Band Network of Huwaei .Both the BCCHs of 900 and 1800 are radiating. Problem is that handover is dragging from1 1800 to 900. these handovers are happening after a dip in Rx level of 1800 abt -90.

    Pls suggest which parameters we can check and improve the handover quality.

    Hi Mak,

    Can you please respecify your question. Are you saying that 1800 is keeping the call till -90? Please tell me if Enhanced Concentric Circles feature is On or Off?
    Also please tell me the values of O2U HO Received Level Threshold and U2O HO Received Level Threshold values.

    Yes exactly the same. 1800 is keeping the call till -90 rx level. than after it might be chance it can give the ho to 900 or not. or it can be a call drop.

    These people has been defined 900 as a layer3 and 1800 as a layer 2.

    Could you pls explain enhance concentric circle feature?

    No Overlay and Underlay ho are used only Interlayer and intralayer ho are usking.

    This is huwaie network

    Thanks

    Oh OK, initially I thought that you are talking about concentric cells. But it seems you are asking about 1800 and 900 cells and delayed intercell handovers.

    Please have a look at these parameters, Inter-layer HO Hysteresis, Inter-layer HO Threshold, Layer HO Valid Time(s) and Layer HO Watch Time(s).

    These are the parameters which may trigger a Layer Handover.

    1. 900M cells are layer 3, 1800M cells are layer2;
    2. From lower layer to high layer, have edge HO and layer HO, but from high layer to low layer, have edge HO, but no layer HO;
    So you want to improve the HO from 1800M to 900M, but change the layer HO threshold.

    pls comment on this

    By the way, I think that as long as 1800’s SS > Interlayer Threshold – Layer HO Hyst. Then it will still be top in list (meaning will not attempt handovers UNLESS a cell with higher layer is reported). Hence this threshold is still important in my opinion. Please correct me if I am wrong.
