SMS Over GPRS and Gd Interface

    Hi all, could we have some Foreign SMS (Operator B) which are not delivered beacause of Gd interface absence for a given Operator (Operator A has Gd interface)?

    any documents about Gd interface are welcome 🙂

    In ususal SMS delivery scheme, Gd-interface on side of opeartor-B is not necessary for SMS delivery.

    Thanks C300G, concerning another situation, if we consider a roamer which original network has Gd interface and destination network doesn’t have Gd implemented. what will be the impact?

    You are writing about inbound roamer?
    I don’t think it would be a promblem in that scenario.
    In that case (from the point of SCCP-routing) two things are necessary:
    1. Bidirectional SCCP-routing availibility from visited SGSN to HLR of roamer by E.164 GTs.
    2. Bidirectional SCCP-routing availibility from visited SGSN to serving node of Receiver (MSC or SGSN directly or GW-SMSC(in case of non-usual scheme)) by E.164 GTs.
