    hi all,

    Is anyone can help me understand the function of a media gateway in a GSM network? How about the call server ?

    MGW is basicaly a transcoder, which transcode the speech codec AMR (fro speech 12.2, video call 64) to PCM30 – normal which you can have it in PSTN or to GSM.
