Hi all,
what are reasons for tch drop rate (gsm & nokia bts)
regard’s
yogesh4th December 2005 at 11:06 #42749SayedGuestTch drop rate mean call drop rate so you may have alot of reason for call drop:
1-unbalance DL/UL
2)-Lack of coverage
3)-Interference so frequency problem4)-hard ware problem like TRAU problem
5)-Parameters mistake
so its a general question6th December 2005 at 10:18 #42750krimoGuestHello Guyes
if we have drop calls due to bad quality in the uplink what we should do in this case

7th December 2005 at 09:53 #42752BobooGuestif we have drop calls due to up quality, hardware issue on TRX must be suspected. Check on site the uplink path in order to verify if there is something wrong closed to the connector.
and maybe the TRX is faulty.regards.

Boko22nd December 2005 at 14:07 #42754wajidGuesthello friends
there are drop calls in all the sites ,with lost TCH radio link, lost sdcch radio link
when checked in OMC-R reportplease let me know what i need to do, do i have to perfofm Drive test and check log files.
national call in the network are free, if the duration of calls exceed 20 minutes ,the MSC drops the call.
can i relate this reason for lost TCH and SDCCH radio link.
please advise
22nd December 2005 at 15:24 #42755BokoGuestHi Wajid,
You shoud have some release channel command from MSC to BSC so it’s not counted as TCH drop, besides you said you also have SDCCH drop.
BTW in which country you have free national calls?rgds,
Boko24th December 2005 at 00:00 #42756wajidGuesti am talking about somalian 4th operator somafone.
i am here in somalia representing Tecore wireless systems.
25th December 2005 at 19:14 #42757TestaGuestHi Wajid,
I think as you are using an automatic voice mail to perform your drive test”, there is a timer in the Core Network which automatically release the call after 20 minutes exactly.
You can perform several test in static under good rf condition calling this “voicemail” and confirm the drop occurs exactly 20 minutes after your start.“national call in the network are free, if the duration of calls exceed 20 minutes ,the MSC drops the call.
can i relate this reason for lost TCH and SDCCH radio link.
please advise”

Testa26th December 2005 at 06:08 #42758moreGuestits reasonable to lose TCH under constraint release from MSC.
But SDCCH lost may had another reason.? is it right??26th December 2005 at 10:49 #42759TechManGuestWajid,
“….. if the duration of calls exceed 20 minutes ,the MSC drops the call.”
These so called “call drops” are MSC initiated normal call clearing and would not be pegged as TCH drop.
27th December 2005 at 06:36 #42760NitinGuestCheck the CDMA collocation for the uplink quality problem.
27th December 2005 at 12:34 #42761wajidGuestwhat is acceptable number of Call
Drops in any network.
Is there any network which is has no call drops at all27th December 2005 at 14:02 #42762joodGuestAs long as you making your traffic dimenssion with B formula(GoS erlang E), as you have lost TCH.& so drop TCH.
You can have Zero drop if you make your traffic under C formula, & this is not commercial network (private network). -
