Hi
I am writing to you from Turkey.
I have a problem with my 2 quintum a400s.
I configured it to call from one point to another point.
One is in Turkey the other is in poland.
Both connections are adsl, poland is 512/128 and turkey is 2048/512.
When poland calls me, the phone here connected to pbx line is ringing,
but when I get the phone, I cant hear anything. However, they hear my voice.
And when I call them, I cant here even if it is ringing or not, but they hear it ringing in poland,
And they hear my humbling voices when they get the phone.
Why can it be ?
Thanx for your care very much,
Alper Ileri
29th September 2004 at 21:37 #28160HugoGuestIt sounds like a fast start problem.
Send me a note to hugo@doxum.com30th September 2004 at 01:02 #28161NonameGuestOne way audio. I will bet a burger that the trouble is one of the A400 is behind a router, not on public I.P. address.
Write to mike3799@yahoo.com. I have a way to test from the outside wich one of the Quintums is not working O.K.
If you have a router in one of the ends, be sure that you either:
1) Put the a400 on the DMZ zone
2) Or be sure that all the VOIP ports are forwarded from the WAN I.P. to the inside I.P. where the quintum is at.
For a complete list of the ports that you need to forward, go to Quintum.com, and enter “customer service”
Best luck!!!!!
1st October 2004 at 11:17 #28162Alper-from-TurkeyGuestWell, yes , one of the quintums is behind a router, ALCATEL SPEEDTOUCH 510. but, all the ports are forwarded. ALL. not some of them. Actually, the quintum’s IP address has been made DEFAULT SERVER. soo..
what should I do exactly ?4th October 2004 at 15:37 #28163MikeMGuestAlper,
Is this the same Alper from Turkey that gave me the fine bottle of spirits on his last trip to NJ?
If you have one way audio Tenor-to-Tenor, then I can almost guarantee that this is not a problem with the Tenor, but, as mentioned in the previous responses, either the IP address is not forwarded correctly or the ISP is blocking VoIP. A good way to test is if you have a 3rd Tenor setup, have each of the other 2 (Poland & Turkey) call to the 3rd and see which one you get voice in one direction. That will tell you which location has the problem. You should also be able to test to Quintum’s Tenor.

5th October 2004 at 09:13 #28164Alper-from-TurkeyGuestHi Mike(s)
I solved the problem,it was a problem with the quintum behind a NAT.
Thanx for help.
5th October 2004 at 23:48 #28165Noname to Alper and Mike(M)GuestHey, you are trying to get a bottle of spirits, I am trying to get a burger!!!!!
I was there first!!!
Kiddind aside, Alper found out that the Quintum did not operate properly behind a NAT.
A software upgrade fixed the trouble. He still behind the NAT and now works like a champ.
We did exactely as you mentioned, tested using a third unit on the US.
But oh surprise, it worked on both directions O.K. from the US!!!!The trouble only shows on outgoing calls, from the defective unit.
Incoming calls to the defective unit are O.K.Best regards to everyone.
But if you get the bottle, you need to post how good it was!!!!Noname
