H.323 Behind NAT

    Hi all,

    These days I am evaluating different type of VoIp gateways. I did managed to place two gateways behind two separate NATs and I am able to connect either of one from any of the othe gateway. Both the gateways are placed in peer to peer mode.

    However, when I tried to connect to either of these gatewasy from Netmeeting (using a Public IP address) I am unable to connect if I only use IP of the router at my network.

    I have tried many soft h.323 clients. But none of the clients have option to add E.164 number of the gateway port.

    Please help.

    H.323 was not designed for nat, it is a waste of time to try and get it to work behind nat when SIP is a more friendly protocol. If you do get it to work, will it be worth the time and effort? Is there any reason why you absolutely have to use h.323?

    May be your solution is to use a gatekeeper. I had a lot of trouble trying to set up two of my gateways behind a NAT. The solution came with a gatekeeper from openh323.org. Good luck.

    what VoIP hardware are you using? Quintum Tenor ?
    what is your LAN design ?
