I want to transport VoIP calls, through an ISP with volumebased charges. So every megabyte of traffic will be charged.
Does anyone have any practical experiences on how much volume VoIP calls generate, Im especially interessted in G723.1 but all others are also welcome.
That is really weird way to handle VOIP, I think what happens is that you have not find a way to bill calls and this is an alternative you are seeking to do it based in volume.
Let me tell you, payload is very irregular, it may vary per call eventhough the same codec is being used.
I experienced from 7 to 11 Kbps with g723r63 in most of my gateways.
Good luck.
